It's been a little while since I've updated you on what I've done the past two months! Now that it is June, it is crunch time...literally and figuratively! Here's what happened in April and May:
I dropped off 15 Easter baskets and a ton of Easter goodies to the Children's Hospital Oakland Family House! It took over three days of baking to finish all of these treats, but it was well worth it!
I had the opportunity to tour my favorite Children's Hospital, CHO, to learn all about what good the hospital does and where our donations go. To donate, click here!
On April 10th, not only was it my birthday, but it was the start of orientation! To read more about my experience, click here.
What are all these pictures? For Miss America Serves Day, I wanted to get the most out of my service. During the week leading up to Miss America Serves, I spent each afternoon making activity and coloring books with a 5th grade class. At the end of the week, I assembled the books and donated all 30 to Children's Hospital Oakland. On the Friday before Miss America Serves, I visited CHO with my Miss CA sisters Molly, Jessa, Melissa, and Felicia to spend some time with the kids there. We met Amira on our way out, who is an absolute doll! She has down syndrome and cancer, but I hear her numbers are really good and she's getting better everyday! On Saturday, I had a tour of CHO with a few of my Miss CA sisters, which was great! It turns out, 3 of us were born premature (including me!). I also collected over $4,000 worth of new and gently used books and delivered them to CHO for their school. Each child gets to keep whatever book they pick up, so books can move quickly out of the school. I am happy to say they will be well stocked for a while!
I also spoke with the Pittsburg Rotary Club about MAO, Miss Contra Costa County, and Lyme disease awareness.
I also taught kindergarteners about Lyme disease, ticks, and how to avoid getting bitten by ticks.
I was also a guest at the "In the Lyme Light Fashion Show" where I was able to speak about my Lyme disease story, and hopefully recruit those cuties to the Miss Sonoma County program! Look at the excitement on their faces!
I volunteered for four hours in San Ramon, going door to door to change fire alarm and carbon monoxide alarm batteries for the elderly.
I attended my executive director's baby shower... :)
Met with the wonderful, inspiring, and amazing Arlie Smith to speak about raising money for CMN..
Met with Gwen's Girls for our Field Workshop to prepare for Miss California! Here we are supporting #RedNoseDay!
I also dropped of Angel Gowns I made to Children's Hospital Oakland.
I attended a Mock Interview/Wardrobe check, sporting my FAVORITE My Thirty One bag and a sign to support LiveLaughLyme! To purchase your own bag, go here!
I read to children at the Bay Point Library's Parent Power Workshop, which encourages parents to read to their children at least 20 minutes a day.
I also spent a day with Arlie Smith to help raise money for Children's Hospital Oakland. Arlie's goal was to be the #1 fundraiser in the United States and hit $100,000 donated!
I had the opportunity to speak with all of the Mayors in Contra Costa County about the Miss Contra Costa County Scholarship Organization.
I delivered more goodies to the Family House. :)
I volunteered at the EBEA Golf Tournament benefitting Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa County.
I was featured again in a fashion segment on the Martina Show!
I made a yummy Pistachio Trail Mix recipe starring American Pistachios!
I also had a blast at the Furry Pet Faire, sponsored by Maddie's Fund! I was even interviewed and the radio and had my radio singing debut.
I was recognized by the Children's Miracle Network Hospital Team for my service to Children's Hospital Oakland. I am so honored! This was definitely one of the top highlights of my year!

Look at all of these beautiful volunteers! These are the volunteers I thanked these last few weeks!
Can you believe it is already June?! It has already been a great month. On Monday, I spent 5 hours volunteering at the Walgreens Charity Golf Tournament that benefitted Children's Hospital Oakland. You'll have to wait until July for that recap! :) In the meantime, check out our Facebook to stay up to date with what Hannah and I are doing. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter!
